What is the Gothic Arch?
In razor-cutting technology, the Gothic Arch is also known as the cathedral cut. It refers to a blade's profile and denotes a cut pointed arch. The name has its origins in architecture, where the arch is regarded as a central Gothic element.
This technology has been used for several hundred years in custom-cut blades. But until the new millennium, this level of precision was not possible in the process used to mass produce razor blades.
In blade technology, the Gothic Arch represents the best kind of shave. Gothic Arch guarantees easily the best shaving results and a razor blade that lasts a lot longer, sometimes in the region of several weeks.

1. The acute angle
In this case, razor blades are cut at a very acute angle. The blades are very sharp, which enables an excellent shave. Due to the extremely thin tip, the razor blades do not last long. Often, these blades become unusable after just one shave.
2. The obtuse angle
A blade cut at an obtuse angle will last longer. At the same time, the razor blade does not shave well. It is blunt from the beginning.
3. Bevelled edge (state-of-the-art)
Standard razor blades have a bevelled edge. With various sharpening angles – usually three – the blades are facetted. This enables a good shave and means that the blades will have a normal shelf life.
4. The Gothic Arch – unique cutting technology
In blade technology, the Gothic Arch represents the best kind of shave. The Gothic Arch guarantees easily the best shaving results and a razor that lasts a lot longer, sometimes in the region of several weeks.
